Synopsis/Sinossi

This painting was inspired by a line from Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘The sound of silence’. The song goes: “The words of the prophets Are written on the subway walls And tenement halls And whispered in the sounds of silence”. I wanted to depict the struggle of looking towards the unknown with the awareness of not being able to fully grasp its essence. The constant tension towards the knowledge of things. Have you ever had the feeling that the meaning of everything is hidden, however, within a story?

Questo dipinto è stato ispirato da un verso di ‘The sound of silence’ di Simon e Garfunkel. 
La canzone recita: “The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence”. 
Volevo raffigurare la fatica di guardare verso lo sconosciuto con la consapevolezza di non poterne cogliere pienamente l’essenza. La costante tensione verso la conoscenza delle cose.
